For the past 14 years we have had the opportunity to utilize the excellent destinations and accommodations to be found in Canada. As a medical education company, we seek to secure venues that offer an appropriate educational environment as well as excellent service. Our experiences in Quebec City, Banff, Vancouver and Whistler have always resulted in first-rate educational settings not to mention the majestic beauty these locations offer to further stimulate the mind. Canada and its amenities will continue to be a dart of our planning now and in the future.
We are strong supporters of Canada, from whale watching in Newfoundland to dining on the shores of the Pacific in Vancouver, the country has so much to offer for both the incentive and meeting markets. We are taking a number of clients to Vancouver and Whistler in early December on a study tour and totally expect once they have experienced the destinations for them to confirm business in the country. For me, Canada rocks!
Banff ? a terrific destination. Our incentive group was most impressed, with the variety of activities offered, the hospitality of people of Banff Springs, the Fairmont did a fantastic job ? always on top of the requests ? most attentive to our needs. I would not hesitate to visit again with an incentive group, corporate group, or a small association. By the way the views are spectacular, everything was just perfect.
Calgary was host recently to an annual association meeting we manage of over 2000 international delegates. Our delegates are big networkers who love to socialize and, other than a Welcome reception held the first day, there are no evening functions planned as part of the meeting agenda. It is very important to our delegates that there are many and varied restaurants and bars that are within easy walking distance of our host hotels for their evening socializing. Holding the meeting in the downtown core certainly allowed them to do this with so much choice right outside the doors of our hotels. Calgary was perfect!
I can't thank you all enough for all you did to make our Board Retreat such a success. Everyone had such a good time and all felt completely welcome. All your suggestions were perfect ... all you did for the group - AMAZING. Your city has a good deal of charm, very clean, the people are what made it however. I am not sure I have ever been to a city before where everyone, and I do mean everyone all the way down to the cab drivers, were so friendly.
Edmonton continues to be one of our favourite destinations. The CVB are truly top professionals that get it. Customer services (is not lip service here ?) takes on a truly unique flavour by adding super achievers to our event team.
The enthusiastic support of all the volunteers, local businesses and golf fans in Edmonton made the 2007 CN Canadian Women's Open the most successful ever held in Canada. The Royal Canadian Golf Association looks forward to bringing the event back to Edmonton in the near future.

Canadian Automobile Association's 95th Annual Meeting held in Jasper was an outstanding success. Each year, the conference program gets better and expectations from the delegates continue to soar like the beautiful mountains that surround Jasper. The weather cooperated and was picture perfect but our success was largely due to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge team exceeding all expectations and going over and beyond in ensuring each of our guests were pampered and well taken care of. The most common feedback we received from our delegates was: We can't wait to come back and stay longer next time!

The Vancouver team went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the Risk and Insurance Management Society Suite Life FAM trip in Vancouver exceeded the RIMS staff and our 55 participating insurance clients' expectations. No detail was overlooked. Everyone had a great time and kept on saying throughout that this is "the best Suite Life they had ever attended". The hotels and the venues showcased generated significant interest for the insurance companies who will hold their own client events during the RIMS Annual in Vancouver next year. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH to the Vancouver team for making our RIMS 2011 Suite Life event memorable and one that will remain in everyone's memories. Pediatric Academic Societies 2010 in Vancouver was the 3rd largest meeting in the history of the organizations. All four sponsoring organizations; American Pediatric Society, Society for Pediatric Research, Academic Pediatric Organization and the American Academy of Pediatrics along with over 15 alliance organizations were extremely happy of the success of the PAS. From preplanning to post completion, the City (Tourism Vancouver), Vancouver Convention Centre and host hotels did an absolutely wonderful job in welcoming and executing the PAS meeting and delegation. Without their true professionalism and attention to details, we couldn’t have had a better conference.
As is the case for all large medical congresses, the preparatory route is a long one and requires the cooperation of all kinds of local and national organisations. We’ve been planning this congress for six years. And here I should pay high tribute to the Vancouver Convention Bureau, which has helped us enormously in drawing up the bid and pulling in the congress. There’s a lot of hard work involved in bringing more than 4000 delegates to a city. Especially lots of collaborative work!
Kelowna makes you realize we do have an incredible all year around playground for meetings in Canada. Skiing, fishing, golfing, hiking, museums, art galleries, wineries, food, mountains, orchards, hotels, resorts and four great seasons. Give Kelowna the opportunity and your attendees will thank you.
Scotiabank has chosen Kelowna for the destination of our National Key Partners Platinum Event because of the beautiful landscape, first class golf courses and fantastic wineries. Kelowna Tourism provided a wonderful introduction to Kelowna and really solidified that we had made the perfect choice for our customers.
The delegate evaluations were some of the most positive ever recorded, with great scores for organization, networking and educational content. Specific questions about Victoria also indicated that delegates really noticed and appreciated the genuine warmth of welcome they experienced in the city, as well as the top quality of service and catering they received in the conference centre. Bearing in mind these delegates came in from 65 countries from all regions of the world, this demonstrates clearly that Victoria is genuinely accessible for global meetings.
We have hosted a few events in Victoria at the Victoria Conference Centre and the Fairmont Empress Hotel. The city is a beautiful venue and very attractive for our international delegates. It truly showcases the West Coast and shows off some of our Canadian history.
The location of the Empress and VCC is perfect for conferences. We were able to hold a reception at the Royal BC Museum, which is across the street from the venue. The Museum is a huge draw for international visitors, and a fantastic and unique venue for a reception. The VCC itself is a wonderful facility to work in. Everything is laid out well, there is a lot of flexibility in the space, and the staff are fantastic. By the end of our conference, I felt I was leaving many new friends at these facilities.
Our events tend to be 95% international delegates. They loved the city and the venue, and found Victoria to be easily accessible, whether using the international airport, BC Ferries, or the ferries from Washington.
We've been bringing scientific symposia to Whistler since 2001. Our attendees from around the world rave about the sites, facilities, and service. We are proud to partner with Tourism Whistler.
We had a wonderful trip to Whistler. Some of our attendees felt it was the one of our "best" reward trips. Your assistance was very thorough and helpful. I happened to be in Whistler, during the Olympics, on a clear blue sunny winter day in February. I rode the world’s longest tram from mountain to mountain and enjoyed one of the most gorgeous views I’ve ever seen… a snowy 360degree vista overlooking mountain ranges, the charming village of Whistler below and thousands of flocked firs. It was quiet and beautiful…one of those moments you take a deep breath and give thanks for such special occasions to witness such natural unspoiled beauty. I spent quite a bit of time imagining the other four seasons of Whistler and pretty much concluded that I’d be happy visiting any time of the year. My rationale considered the hypothetical smell of fresh spring flowers while hiking in the mountains, the experience of golfing in Whistler while absorbing the beauty of the mountains all around in the summer, and then the blazing glory of autumn. The area is a gorgeous setting with a comfortable character. People are so laid back and friendly, yet deliver exceptional service in the restaurants, hotels, and shops. I loved the fact that dogs are loved by Whistler residents, and they are all happily behaved on their leases. I’m convinced the smiling golden retrievers and Labradors all look at visitors and think “I’m lucky to live here."

I recently planned a corporate retreat at Tigh Na Mara resort and I could not have been happier with our experience! The accommodations were a perfect fit for what we were looking for. There were so many room options; something for everyone. My group stayed in the 1 and 2 bedroom cottages and they were great!
The meeting space was perfect for us too. It had windows and doors out to the patio so we didn't feel like we were trapped in a cave all day. I think the biggest, most pleasant surprise was how amazing the food and beverage was. It was better than most of the 4 and 5 star hotel chains that I book meetings with! From the buffet lunch and breakfast to the fancy plated dinners. Everything was exceptional. My sales contact Tauna and the banquet team even worked with me to do something extra special for my group and we ended up having an amazing clam bake on their patio. This isn't even one of their catering offerings but they did it just to make our visit extraordinary and of course, they nailed it!
From the preliminary planning stages to the onsite execution to the follow up communications, the staff was top notch at every turn. Every request was met with a smile and enthusiasm. Everything and anything no matter how big or small (or high maintenance) they made it happen without hesitation. The professionalism and passion for exceptional service at this resort blew me away. What a pleasure everyone was to work with. I would not hesitate to bring my company back there for a second. 5 out of 5 stars for sure! Can't wait to take my family now!!

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association held their EOC Professional Development Forum at the Inn at the Forks June 16th – 18th, 2011. Everything came together wonderfully. Very convenient location. Good experience for our delegates. I think that Winnipeg was a very, very pleasant surprise to our group and very few had ever been to the city. Well done Winnipeg!
It was a pleasure working with several members of Team Winnipeg for the 2010 National Healthcare Leadership Conference. The hospitality and level of service received was excellent.
In 2010, The Royal Canadian Legion came home to Winnipeg, the birthplace of our organization, for our 43rd Dominion Convention. What a homecoming! The city and its people rolled out the red carpet and warmly welcomed all Legionnaires. With the first-class facilities at the Winnipeg Convention Centre and the excellent hotel properties throughout the downtown core, together with the outstanding support from Tourism Winnipeg, a successful convention was all but guaranteed before we even arrived. Thank you, Winnipeg.

Winnipeg is a wonderful place to hold a convention, the convention facilities and hotels are first-class and I can’t say enough about the people of Winnipeg – they were so friendly and accommodating and warmly welcomed all Legionnaires.
What a lovely city you have - the warm Maritimes hospitality was extended to our conference delegates everywhere - from the Wu Centre staff, the hotel staff, the many cab drivers we met, and the Frederictonians on the street. I took an extra day to walk around downtown on Saturday, and I am very impressed with the array of stores you have, offering high end clothing to wonderful arts and crafts. The comments I received from delegates talked about how beautiful and friendly Fredericton is. Thank you again for your support during the planning stages of this event.
Thank you ever so much for a truly enjoyable introductory to Fredericton. I really appreciate all your planning and the extensive tour of the city. I now think of Fredericton as the little emerald - a true gem - very green and very classy.
Rendez-Vous Fredericton went the extra mile. The hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of service and attention to detail. Their special Maritime lobster feast was fun-filled and sumptuous - a perfect final night celebration. Everything was minutes away - including unique shopping!
It was the New Brunswick flavor that made it special. I am going home with a suitcase full of local gifts and wonderful memories, and wanting to come back.
The Royal LePage Real Estate National Sales Conference was held in St. John’s, NL in September 2008 and it was the best conference we have had to date! It was our earliest sell-out on record as everyone wanted to visit Newfoundland. Delegate survey results rated it as the best networking experience as the city is large enough to have fun but intimate enough to find each other easily. By far, St. John’s has the most welcoming residents. From a planner’s perspective, it was the most enjoyable conference I have arranged as the local vendors went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and were always fun to work with.
Having worked with several associations that have held their annual conferences in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, I am delighted to attest to the overall success experienced by each. From the interest that the destination generated in advance of the conference – all three associations experienced an increase in registration - to the on-site experience and the warmth and friendliness of the hospitality staff, be it hotels, restaurants or attractions. All were captivated by the beauty and the majesty of nature – be it the Atlantic Ocean itself or the sight of an iceberg grounded in the mouth of the harbor. And the colors Newfoundlanders love seemed to release stress. Social events were more memorable than any destination I have experienced – how can you not love a kitchen party? - people still talk about the program, the experience and how great it was. The destination can be likened to a resort where once you set foot on the ground, the stress and strain disappears and you become enveloped in the life of living on a rock, far from the madding crowd. It is one of Canada’s treasures – and the conference facilities, despite being very competitive, become secondary to the experience itself. I would highly recommend St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador as a conference destination – it will not only generate interest, attendance and success for the destination but for the association and the conference itself!
Halifax proved to be a great destination for groups of many sizes. The combination of location, hotel selection, offsite venues, culture, dining and entertainment is ideal.
Halifax has it all – its easy to get around, it has the ocean, great attractions, restaurants, bars, shopping and very friendly people.
New York State Land Title Association has come and gone and was a huge success. We travel with this group to Canada, the United States and Bermuda and therefore, work with several Convention Organizations. However, Destination Halifax wins the top award for professionalism, service, follow up and overall partnership. Halifax was a new destination for over 90% of the attendees and marketing was paramount to the success of the conference. The follow up marketing campaign, pre event promotional mail out materials and seb site features were excellent. The constant follow up and communication was also first class. It was a pleasure working with you and I hope that we will have a chance to bring many other groups to Halifax.
There is such enthusiasm and passion – a ‘can-do’ attitude in Halifax. There is also a tremendous amount of knowledge and pride in local product. Having planned more than 100 national meeting and conventions over the past 20 years as an event planner, on a scale of one to ten, the Halifax team is easily 15.
Your Inn is by far more elegant from the room amenities to the excellent bed and pillows - rooms are extra large - bathroom huge. Excellent spot - keep advertising to get the word out.
I just wanted to thank you again for taking such good care of our group at Christie's Mills. I also wanted to be sure that I recognize the fine job in planning and executing our meeting. All of the meeting participants were delighted with the Mill, the food and the service.
The 12th International Conference on Fracture held July 12-17, 2009 was by all accounts a resounding success! The success of a conference such as ICF12 depends on the support and cooperation of many people.
I can't begin to tell you what a privilege it has been for me to work with such a great team, all of whom share a passion for this industry and for their city. Toronto will always hold a special place in my heart and in my memories --- and lasting impressions is what it is all about --- You opened your hearts and your community in a way that will not soon be forgotten.

From the moment I came out of customs to find a welcome sign for us, I knew our members were going to fall in love with your city -- Your staff made it so easy for us and all the special services you offer were truly appreciated. Again, no city can top your services! We certainly thank your staff -- They all went above and beyond to make our meeting so special.
It was truly a pleasure to work with the team at Tourism Toronto on the Pan American and Parapan American Games bid for 2015. Tourism Toronto was with us with every step of the way offering excellent service and expertise in a professional manner -- We look forward to continuing to work with Tourism Toronto for the balance of the bid and beyond.
In the insurance business, we always talk about 'delivering on a promise,' whether it be insuring lives, insuring property or financial security. It's the business that we are all in. I recall attending an ICPA (that's what it was at the time) Board of Directors meeting in Toronto either in 2004 or 2005. At that time, we met with Murray from Toronto Tourism as well as many of the Toronto stakeholders regarding their bid for our annual meeting. I recall being struck by the passion and sincerity as well as by the fact that it wasn't about one hotel versus another but by the combined desire of everyone to showcase your great city. It could have been the plane that flew by the 43rd floor boardroom with a banner that read something like 'Toronto Welcomes ICPA in 2008' that really was the icing on the cake for me. When John Touchette spoke to me about his decision to select Cancun (Cancun and Toronto were bidding on the 2008 conference), I told him that I would be very comfortable selecting Toronto. I wish I could take credit for the foresight in holding our meeting in a city like Toronto for the 2009 conference. We all know it's been a very difficult year for our members and partners. A meeting in a resort destination this year could really have been disastrous. Let me tell you, Toronto, Toronto Tourism, Destination Canada, Starwood, Sheraton Centre, JPdl, Fairmont Royal York, FICP staff and all of the other stakeholders knocked this one out of the park and truly "delivered on a promise." I was proud to boast that Toronto was my selection. You should all be very proud of what was accomplished.
We brought our Annual Meeting to Ottawa for the first time in 16 years, and it was considered one of our best in many years. The Shaw Centre and hotels were exceptional. Our offsite event took flight at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. And Ottawa Tourism made it all easy, from their initial bid through planning to assisting us with our spousal program during the event.
I wanted to express my sincere thanks to Ottawa Tourism for hosting and supporting CSFX 2014. Ottawa was the perfect choice for our tenth anniversary event and we were thrilled with everything! From the moment we arrived to when it was time to pack it all up, Ottawa was a superb host city! Our nation's capital offered a great selection of venues to help make our conference unique and memorable.
What a memorable week for our Canadian Sport Community! On behalf of the Coaching Association of Canada, as well as our Chair of the CAC Board of Directors, Gabor Csepregi, and CEO, Lorraine Lafrenière, I would like to thank you for contributing to make this year’s Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference a success. Montreal is a great city. It was exciting, vibrant, sophisticated, fun, cosmopolitan and with lots of history. That combined with our great program meant that we were able to attract more people than what was originally anticipated.
The feedback is always very favorable after a conference in Québec. In fact, our meeting this year attracted the most delegates and guests ever!
Words alone cannot express the immense beauty of Québec City, it was more than I expected. Québec City is definitely a well-hidden treasure.
The destination was both exciting to the international and domestic delegates. A convention centre of this caliber is a major asset to Québec City's quest as a convention destination.
The relationship between the WRLA and Tourism Saskatoon should serve as a benchmark. 2010 marks the 15th year of holding the WRLA Prairie Showcase in Saskatoon -- and we just signed an agreement for another five.
I am really looking forward to holding the CSAE 2011 Conference in Saskatoon. After seeing the city and the facilities, I know Saskatoon will meet all our needs. Our attendees will enjoy your enthusiasm and everything the city has to offer.
